In my family, we are huge fans of watching American Football. When I was young, I used to watch the games with my father: he has two daughters and no sons, so we learned to watch sports with him. When I got married, I married a “die-hard” Pittsburg Steeler’s fan, who inherited this to my son. There is no question that we all are Steeler’s fans, but recently, I enjoy watching the Kansas City Chiefs play. There is a certain magic about that team that I like: Patrick Mahomes is not just a positive leader for the team, he has a connection and special bond with each of the players, which in turn yields success.

Having said that, when Coach Andy Reid said the above mentioned words to his QB, when there were only 13 seconds left in the game and they were losing, I immediately wrote them down. At the beginning, if you analyze them literally, the meaning (I believe) will be a bit harsh because I would have to imagine Patrick with a black cloak and an ax resembling death. However, if you think about the bigger picture, I like to think it means, “Go out there and be the Hope they need.” And Patrick did just that. He helped win the game in an amazing way (this is referring to when they played the Bills, not against the Bengals).

For us, while working on our profiles and college applications, and personal life, let’s be the Grim-Reapers, problem solvers, providers of Plan B if Plan A did not work out; let’s be the beacon of Hope others need, so that they in turn can become a chain reaction of Hope for others.
