For many weeks now, this phrase has been resonating in my mind. I heard it in a movie called Field of Dreams, where a voice or an intuition, keeps telling the main character that he should build a baseball field in the middle of a corn field. Of course, many doubted him and he faced many challenges; however, he believed in himself and his inner voice.
This phrase has been resonating in my mind, because I also believe that metaphorically, “if you build it, they will come.” What does this refer to? Basically, anything in your life. If you build it, your own business, your own self, your own dream, people will come, and it will be magnificent. If you create with love, passion, and devotion, whatever you do will attract people who will want to share your vision. Many times we are afraid and we question our potential and ourselves as human beings. But being afraid of our own greatness will overshadow what we are able to accomplish. Quoting Marianne Williamson,
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us . . .We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Let us create the best version of ourselves today and with this powerful tool, let us become that wonderful human being we were meant to be. It might be a modified version of what we have envisioned, but it will still maintain the essence of who you are. I encourage you to stop going against the grain of your life, meaning that you should stop struggling to become someone you are not meant to be. Accept the beautiful talents you were born with and allow your light to shine.
